Wild soul Summer Camps 2024
We will be offering some fun, nature-connected summer camps in July and August this summer.
General description, details and registration process are included below.
Observation and Awareness Camp
In these 4-day camps, children will develop their capacity for observation and awareness, tuning into and exploring the natural world around them and seeing what wants to get noticed! Through games, exploration and interaction with nature, time for quiet observation and reflection, tuning into natural curiosity and asking lots and lots of questions, participants will begin to see in a whole new way, recognizing and appreciating the vast amount of information available to them in the simplest details of our amazing world. Along the way, they will also get to experience a style of learning that feels natural, engaging, supportive, and, mostly, like a ton of fun. Enjoying the company of friends and growing an awareness of others’ needs, thoughts, opinions, and feelings will also be a natural by-product of the camp experience.
These camps do not just provide care for your child, but provide a high-quality and meaningful experience. Mentorship and personal connection is a key part of our philosophy that we work to maintain in all our programs and offerings. For more information and with questions, please contact us, or, for information about our teaching philosophy, visit the About page.
For our camp, kids should be prepared to be outside from 9am-3pm (6 hours, in total), in whatever weather we get! They will need to bring a morning snack and full lunch, 1.5L of water, closed-toe shoes (we'll take them off when we can!), sun protection (hat, sunscreen), a small nature journal and pen/pencil, and clothes that are appropriate for moving through tall grass, shrubs, etc. These should all be packed in a backpack that the child can carry. An extra change of clothes may also be useful - we will get muddy, we will get wet in streams and creeks, and we will be putting our bodies in contact with the earth!
Please do not bring: toys, cards, knives/weapons, fire-starters, sugary food/candy. All these things
have their place, but they will be distracting at camp!

**Please note: registration does reserve you a spot, but does not guarantee acceptance into the program. While we will do all we can to make our programs accessible to all, we reserve the right to ensure we are a good fit for each other and that it is within our ability to meet your child's needs before their spot is guaranteed. We place great importance on the physical and emotional health and safety of all our participants, and make decisions accordingly. If for some reason we decide we are not a good match before the program begins, your deposit will be fully refunded.
We also reserve the right to cancel camps that do not have eight students enrolled by June 1st. In this case, you will be notified by email and/or phone and you may choose to switch to another week of camp or have your deposit refunded. Thank you!**
