Fox-Walkers 2025-2026

In this program, kids will attend eight Saturday program days from October through May where they will be immersed in the eight-shields model of teaching and mentoring. Through play, stories, exploration and fun, participants will build an awareness of and deeper understanding of the natural world, while building relationships with each other, program mentors and nature. This program is designed for kids ages 7-12 and participants are asked to sign up for the whole year. In addition to normal program time, all kids in Fox-Walkers will also be invited to attend our community events and celebrations, further deepening their connection to the seasonal wheel of the year and providing an opportunity to get to know the other children and families in our programs.

Why do kids love our Monthly Program?  Because we really play: Running, dodging, hiding, sneaking, building, drawing, storytelling, and laughing.  And yet, we also drop in deeply, quietly, listening carefully...and then we have outrageous animal encounters! We find ourselves consumed in wonder and joy at the natural world around us.  We use our animal senses and abilities to step silently, to see broadly, to listen widely, to smell deeply, and to discover that sometimes we can sense something we can't quite explain...  Simply put, we have so much fun with the animals, plants, environment, and each other, being ourselves, feeling welcomed, and really experiencing that we are at home in the natural world.

Why do parents love Wild Soul programs?  Because they know that while the kids are playing and really using their senses, while they are being captivated by the natural world as well as their charming and trusted instructors, they are (shhhhh) really learning!  We are coyote mentors, meaning that whether the kids realize it or not, we pack our stories, games, and activities with naturalist knowledge, sensory motor skills, healthy human culture, and deep nature connection.  Our kids come back to their families full of stories of fun and excitement, but they have also been mentored into deep relationship with nature, with each other, and within themselves.  Quiet moments of reverence sit next to bombastic joy, electric movement, thoughtful reflection & close observation, which all come together to create the conditions for curiosity, focus, self-care, care of others, celebration of community, ecological awareness, and profound care for the world, all while being mentored towards becoming the full, whole human they are meant to be.

All that happens with just one Saturday a month?!  You bet.  Ask our summer camp families, who have experienced the magic of just a few days with us.  Ask our school year families, who experience the depth, care, and profound growth they've experienced over 9 months with us.  We aren't a science club or a play date, a sport or a mindfulness retreat, and yet we draw from the best of all these things and from what children love most.  It turns out Deep Nature Connection is the most meaningful fun we could ever hope to have. Join us!

**Please note: registration does reserve you a spot, but does not guarantee acceptance into the program. While we will do all we can to make our programs accessible to all, we reserve the right to ensure we are a good fit for each other and that it is within our ability to meet your child's needs before their spot is guaranteed. We place great importance on the physical and emotional health and safety of all our participants, and make decisions accordingly. If for some reason we decide we are not a good match for you and your child, your deposit will be fully refunded. In all other cases, the deposit is non-refundable.

We also need to meet minimum enrollment numbers and have qualified staff to make a program work. If we have not met our necessary enrollment numbers or cannot find appropriate instructors, the program in question may be canceled. In this case you will receive a full refund for any deposit or tuition paid. Please register promptly! Thank you for your cooperation and understanding!**
